Hearing the Lord to Fulfill the Vision of the Church
- To take people (kids) from corporate encounters with God to daily personal encounters with God through worship, teaching lessons, and video content.
- All curriculum is birthed from hearing the Lord.
How to Develop Presence-Driven Curriculum
Series Development
- Example Topics: Radical Love, Hearing God, Reformers, Holiness
- A series is usually 4 weeks long, centered around one topic.
- Once the series is identified, ask the Lord to teach you about that topic.
- You cannot lead others to a place you haven’t been.
Two Ways Series Topics Are Created:
- Given a directive by church leadership (modeling main service series).
- Asking the Lord what is on His heart for your ministry for that month.
Creating the Snapshot
What is the Snapshot?
The snapshot provides insight to the writer and the teacher with an overview of the lesson. It includes four key components:
- Revelation:
- A 4-5 word main idea the kids should walk away with.
- Example: “Love God for No Reason”
- Bible Story:
- The scripture that drives the revelation.
- Example: Genesis 37-50 (The Story of Joseph), Job 1:6
- Heart:
- 1-3 sentences connecting the Bible story and revelation.
- Joseph had no reason to love God when everything was taken away from him, but he held onto a dream that brought God’s mercy and love to a nation.
