Why we planted Mercy Culture Church

Unique Characteristic: We are a Presence Driven Church.

We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around the presence of God. We consistently ask God for His mind and His heart for His house.

What does "Presence Driven" mean?

“Presence Driven” is a trendy word in youth ministry. They use that phrase as a way to describe

how we use gifts of the spirit and have longer services.

But there is a difference between "Gift Driven" and "Presence Driven".

• We aren’t built around gifts or a personality.
• We build ministry around the Presence of God.

If you’re the only one who is preaching on Wednesdays, there is a good chance that the student ministry is centered around you, not God's presence.

Things I Learned from My Experiences in Student Ministry

1. Operating in the spiritual gifts doesn’t mean you are presence driven.

If you assume this, you might actually be gift driven instead of presence driven.

2. Numbers don’t determine success.

Who cares if you have a thousand students in your ministry if they all go to hell?
